Review: Ben Nye Loose Powders

Ben Nye’s loose powers are a cult favorite amongst the MUA blogosphere. These powders are available at pro makeup stores if you have any in your area or online at Camera Ready Cosmetics, Makeup Mania and others. They are 2 categories of powders; Classic Translucent and Luxury Powders.  Luxury Powders come in 2
series; Bella (lighter shades) and Mojave (darker shades). The shade selection is ridiculous! They come in 3 sizes; 1.5oz/ 42gm and 3.0oz/ 85gm shaker bottles, and
8oz/ 226gm jar. The prices range from $5- $23.99 depending on the size.
I’m pretty sure the 1.5 oz will last the average person FOREVER. I purchased the darker shades I have from the Alcone store in NYC during my vacay a few months back && I obviously have no concept of size so I bought 3oz bottles which I’m pretty sure will last me til I have grandchildren lol. I’m not sure if the “Coco Tan” shade has been discontinued as it’s not available at most e-tailers but I found mine on the ground in NYC.
I’ve used these powders to set my foundation && concealer with no complaints thus far. I’m not very oily so I prefer to only powder my T-zone and under my eyes, using Banana or Topaz when I’m doing the super highlighted Kim K look, but I’ve also used it all over without any cakiness. These photograph beautifully on WOC because they’re translucent they don’t read ashy on camera like a lot of powders can on darker skin. They’re also great for adding warmth to a foundation that might be slightly off.
