Review: Give Me Glow Matte Liquid Lipsticks
I’ve been making an active efforts in my makeup shopping to experiment with more indie brands and share them here on the blog. My most recent find is a fun brand Give Me Glow that I came across on Instagram. They have a large selection of matte liquid lipsticks which is what caught my attention of course. GMG also makes pressed glitters, and will soon be releasing highlighters and lip paints.
Honestly they had about 10 shades that I want to try but I was trying to be good and only ordered three so I could test them out. It’s fall so I went for the vampy shades and warm nudes.
Bad Gal is their darkest vampy purple, I was expecting it to be a little deeper based on the online swatch but I’m still loving it. Cherry Cola is described as a “deep chocolate brown with hints of berry”. Once again I was expecting a slightly deeper shade but all of the swatches on their website are on very light skin so the colors will obviously look different on brown skin. Lastly is Nude Beach, described as a “deep nude with hints of orange”. This color is pretty true to GMG’s online lip swatch and it’s been my most reached for lip color of the last few weeks. It really reminds me of my other love DOC Cork (worn here) but they’re different enough to me to justify having both.

I was pleasantly surprised by the formula of these liquid lipsticks. I didn’t think they would be bad but I honestly just didn’t know what to expect. These lipsticks are only $13.25 each and they are easily comparable to some of my favorite $18-20 liquid lipsticks! They go on to the lips opaque in one swipe, I didn’t have any issues with streaks or patchiness on any of the shades that I selected. They dry down completely in about a minute or so to a matte finish without feeling like they were sucking all of the life from my lips. They wore very well all day through eating and drinking but were still comfortable on my lips. What more could I ask for?
If you’re interested in trying these lipsticks for yourself I would highly recommend checking out Give Me Glow’s Instagram for more true to color “real life” swatches of their shades on different skin tones. They also do a lot of dupes and comparison’s of their shades to other popular brands like ABH, Colour Pop, Dose of Colors, Jeffree Star, Lime Crime etc. I’ll definitely be picking up a few more to add to my collection.
