I’m back like I never mothereffin left! I’ve been hoarding so much stuff to share and review it’s ridiculous.
Dose of Colors recently released a new product to their lineup, the Eyedeal Duo. It’s a creamy primer and loose pigment in one that are designed to be layered together for glitzy, shimmery, amazingness.
Although I’m not a lover of loose pigment I had to get my hands on these after seeing those gorgeous swatches! I ordered “Sticks & Stones” from Naimies (shoutout to that pro discount).
The packaging is super cute and compact, with the primer on top with a little mirror in the cap and the loose pigment screwing onto the bottom. I was a little surprised at how light the primer was for “Sticks and Stones” as I was expecting something more similar to the rusty color of the pigment.
Layered together you can really see how the lighter primer transforms the pigment into something even brighter and shinier. These products are definitely meant to be worn together. I don’t feel that the pigment would work very well on its own on the eyes without a base underneath.
I did get a chance to give these a quick test run on my eyes a few weeks ago and while i love how it performs on my hand, I’m not 100% on how it held up on my eyes. Like I said before I’m not a loose pigment lover so it could definitely be user error but I felt like it was hard to get the pigment from my brush to my lid without a lot of fall out. I think I’m going to try to use my fingers only and not a brush next time to help really pack the pigment on. The primer is really tacky and helps to catch the pigment but I felt like it might be a little too creamy for my lids, as I experienced some creasing while wearing it. I love the colors and the looks of these and I would really love a few more shades in my collection but I’m going to keep playing with “Sticks and Stones” to perfect the application before I pick up any more.
