Taking care of and painting my nails is probably my favorite beauty regimens but it’s always the first to fall to the wayside when I’m busy. As I wrap up this last month of grad school I’m trying to get back into the habit but I have to start by rebuilding my damaged and neglected nails. These are my top three nail strengthening base coats to help my weak nails get back into shape!
1. Sally Hansen Hard As Nails ($2.99) This a drugstore classic. It’s cheap and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. It’s a great base coat to help keep nail polish on longer too.
2. Gelous Nail Gel ($5.99) I love how this strengthener gives your nails that thick gel look. After using this for a few weeks my nails always feel stronger and look healthier.
3. Salon Science Instant Artificials ($11.99 via Amazon) I originally purchased this after I had the brilliant idea to wear acrylic nails for a few months. My nails were trashed after removal and this was the best thing that I found to make them strong again as they grew back out. I originally purchased my bottle at Sally Beauty for around $7 but I can’t find it on their site, maybe you can still find it in stores.
